Sponges you use around your home are not one-time use items. Their utility in home cleaning is unsurpassed. The best part is that simple sponges have much more uses than you think. Following are few suggestions that you should try out it:
- Keep vegetables fresh – as you store vegetables in the bottom tray of your fridge, you have likely noticed that sometimes there is water accumulated. Once you see they have absorbed enough moisture, wring them out and let them dry before you return them in the fridge. - Lift lint from your fabrics – if your upholstery and clothes have accumulated too much pet fur and lint, a sponge can be used to remedy the situation. Dampen one a little and give the fabric a quick wipe. You will find the unwanted fur and lint coming off in a ball as you run your fingers over the sponge.
- Keep fragile items safe – storing small, valuable, fragile items is easy when you have a few sponges at hand. Since sponges are soft, they serve as cushions. Dampen a sponge and wrap it gently around a delicate item. Then, use a rubber band to secure it there. Once it dries up, the sponge will remain in place to the contour of the item. As you unpack, dip the sponge in water and remove rubber bands.

Just wet a sponge and put it in the microwave for a few minutes.
