When it comes to cleaning, we are all accountable for dealing with tasks out of sheer need and not so much because we like it. If that is true for you, remember that it is only natural and that there is always room for improvement.
Although this type of relationship you have with all home cleaning chores is only natural, it’s far from ideal. It may get the job done, but often times the result will be merely average at best. The key problem is that as you do tasks you don’t really like wasting time on, you’ll be making errors. And when mistakes are made, the outcome is hardly satisfactory. For this purpose, you’ll do well to know of these cleaning mistakes and fix them:
Inappropriate usage of the dishwasher – when it comes to using the dishwasher, you may think that all it takes is just throwing the cookware and utensils in and running the cycle. While that’s the intended use of the machine, there are a few hacks you should follow. For starters, you should not ever overload the dishwasher. That can effect the washer’s ability to reach each and every part of the dishes inside and clean them. Another issue is placing all spoons together, which prevents a viable 100% clean. Ensure you place some up and some down so that they’re fully clean. It’s a similar situation for knives.
-Cleaning windows on a sunny day – even though a good warm day can spark up cleaning enthusiasm, it is hardly good to tackle window cleaning when the sun’s out in full power. The issue is that it will dry up fast any liquid you spray on the glass surface, leaving tricky to clean streaks in the process. If you wish to be effective at window cleaning, do it on a cloudy day or early morning/later in the evening when the sun is not an issue.
– Not cleaning your cleaning tools and accessories – even though there are various cleaning tools to help you out at home, pretty much all of them require some cleaning love as well. Among the notable case is the kitchen sponge. Consider everything that your kitchen sponge has actually cleaned this week and then try to remember when was the last time you cleaned the sponge itself. It’s very easy to clean the sponge – just wet it and put it in the microwave for a some time. That way you will not be spreading germs onto all surfaces you clean with it next time.
– Ignoring grimy daily items – picture you’re sanitising your living room. You start dusting and you have to declutter some stuff in order to remove dust. You move away the remote and then put it again on the table when you are done. Great job … not. This remote is one of the items that harbour the most bacteria and germs, so it should be on your list of items to clean frequently.
These are just some of the possible cleaning errors you can make. Think of them as cleaning tips that you should take note of and include on your list of chores so that you don’t skip them.
